Background
The 3M Open is a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour, held at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minnesota, a suburb north of Minneapolis. Announced by the PGA Tour in June 2018, the tournament debuted in 2019 on July 4–7. Minnesota-based company 3M is the title sponsor of the event.
It succeeds the 3M Championship, a PGA Tour Champions event for 26 years (1993–2018), held at TPC Twin Cities since 2001.
Planning. Installation. Support.
Trackit supported the 3M Open throughout the planning and implementation phases of the tournament.
During the planning, our support staff worked with the tournament marketing and communications team to ensure the messaging was scheduled properly for each day of the tournament to accurately reflect the daily tournament messaging and sponsorship requirements. Both digital content and kiosk design wraps were created during this phase.

At the tournament, our expert roadshow team installed and supported the event staff in set up and tear down of the equipment. Our team was also present to support dynamic content changes as required by the tournament.
Staff & Attendee Messaging
The 3M Open utilized our portable kiosk displays to support their physical signage needs throughout the tournament.

For the attendees, tournament information and dynamic updates were provided through the digital signage. Attendees were able to receive real-time notifications through the tournament facilities.

For the staff, daily staff information were pre-scheduled and displayed to inform staff about daily changes such as meals for the day and staff meeting schedules.
Vehicle Tracking App
The 3M Open had shuttles to bring attendees to and from the tournament parking lots. During the planning phase, we worked with the tournament transportation staff to coordinate tracking of the shuttles.

The drivers of the shuttles were given Trackit's vehicle tracking app. With the driver apps, we were able to display the location of all the shuttles throughout the tournament and send real-time estimates for pick-up and drop-off times at each shuttle bus location.
